Episode 16: Romans 3:21-25; A Look at the Tabernacle Part 1

In episode 16, Larry arrives at Romans 3:21, and reads verses 21-25.  He then takes us back to a detailed explanation of the Tabernacle in order to fully understand the context of Romans 3:21-25.
This sermon is the first of two spent on the Tabernacle.  Part two will be featured in episode 17.
The discussion portion of the episode is also a two parter with returning guest Daniel.  Part 1 is featured in this episode, and part 2 will be featured in episode 17.

Episode 15: Romans 3:10-20

In episode 15, Larry, continuing through Romans 3,  preaches the last sermon on the judgement of God, before the dramatic shift in Romans 3:21.
After the episode, I talk briefly about God's common grace verses how man stands before the righteous God Almighty.
Finally, the episode concludes with Larry's granddaughter Mandolin playing her arrangement of the hymn "Redeemed," lyrics by Fanny Crosby and music by William James Kirkpatric.

Episode 14: Romans 3:1-8 "From the Council of God"

In this episode, Larry continues teaching through Romans, beginning in chapter 3.
His sermon covers the first 8 verses.
 
After the sermon you’ll hear a piano interlude, and then I welcome Joy back to the podcast.
 
The theological scope of our discussion reaches far and wide, as we cover God’s sovereignty in judgement, salvation, and God’s grace in the Christian life for believers.

Epidsode 13:Romans 2:17-29 "If You Bear the Name Church Member"

Larry finishes teaching on Romans chapter 2.  After the sermon, I talk briefly about Linda, Larry's wife, and about Larry and Linda's testament, or legacy.
The episode concludes with Mandolin's arrangement and performance of the hymn, "Blest Be the Tie that Binds."

Episode 12: 33 Things

In Episode 12, Larry preaches a sermon from 2009, focussing on Law and Grace.  This will be the last sermon from this time period.  The next episode will take us back to 1987, where Larry continues preaching through Romans.
I'm pleased to feature my niece Mandolin at the end of the episode.  She plays her arrangement of It Is Well With My Soul.

Episode 11: Law And Grace Part 2

In Episode 11 we stay in 2003, to play the 2nd sermon of a series Larry taught on Law and Grace.  I was honored to invite Linda, a current church member who sat under Larry's teaching, to talk about how Larry made her feel.  Linda came from an oppressive "church," where she was made to feel substandard because she was a woman.
A heartbreaking, yet heartwarming conversation all rolled into one, this episode highlights the difference correct teaching, or lack thereof, can make in the life of a Christian.  I am so thankful God, in His providence, brought Linda to hear Larry's teaching.

Episode 10: Law and Grace

In Episode 10, we are again jumping ahead to 2003, where Larry preached a series on Law and Grace.
I chose this sermon because I was honored to invite Cheryl onto the podcast to talk about her experience attending Larry’s church, and how Larry’s teaching on grace in the Christian life completely changed how she lived out her life as a Christian.

In Episode 7, I take us back to the year 1987, where Larry is teaching through the book of Romans.  He covers verses 26-32 of chapter one.  At the end of the sermon I conclude the episode with a brief commentary about growing up understanding man's depravity.
